Job Summary
Community Aquatics n’ Occupational Engagement (CANOE)® www.canoecommunity.org is seeking a part-time licensed Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. We are a small locally owned practice in the Lakewood, Colorado area. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide to outpatient therapy aquatic based interventions, serving clients with a creative and person-centered approach. Key Responsibilities
Conduct evaluations/re-evaluations, interventions, care plan management, and discharges.
Assist with Prior Authorization Requests (PARs) and management of MD orders.
Oversee client discharge planning and documentation.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold Colorado state standards of practice.
Perform clinic-related duties, including cleaning equipment, checking out/putting away supplies, and securing the clinic before/after use.
Deliver dual services: outpatient occupational therapy alongside water safety and learn-to-swim services.
Committed to being a lifelong learner and provide the highest quality of care to patients and clients as possible.
This is a part-time W2 position.
Required Qualifications
Active Occupational Therapist Registered License (OTRL) in the state of Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aquatics or swim instruction is beneficial but not required. We can provide all training in house.
If you were the child whose lips turned blue when your parents told you to get out of the pool OR were on swim team -> this position could be a great fit!
Work Environment
Outpatient clinic located in Lakewood, Colorado (Highway 285 & Wadsworth Blvd).
Pool contract locations within two highway exits from the clinic, Englewood & Littleton.
Hybrid options available occasionally for emergencies or adverse weather conditions.
No specialization or previous training for aquatic therapy or learn to swim interventions is necessary as. No specialization or previous training for aquatic therapy or learn to swim. Interventions is necessary as we provide on site training.
Compensation
-Pay is per visit, starting at 50% of reimbursement with growth potential up to 60% based on performance and tenure. (This varies based upon type of funding. The least is $35/45minutes and the highest is ~$100/hr and these are base rates 50%).
In-person & remote options available
Currently CANOE® comes to your home & community pools. The general area available for in-person travel to you services is the Southwest Denver area; Denver, Lakewood, Sheridan, Englewood, Littleton, Ken Caryl, Columbine, and Highlands Ranch. See picture (RIGHT) for more details of our travel to area. Outside our area? - That’s OKAY! You can travel to our locations for outpatient or aquatic therapy services at Sensory Club Denver, Englewood Recreation, and Ridge Recreation Center.

Aquatic Therapy & Learn-To-Swim
CANOE® offers aquatic therapy & learn to swim classes under outpatient therapy services. We are a licensed trained provider with the American Red Cross for learn-to-swim and water safety lessons. Aquatic therapy is a unique service that offers a blend of occupation therapy and learn to swim. Dual services is an option here, you do not have to choose between aquatic therapy OR learn to swim, why not both?!?! Offered in the state of Colorado.
